the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has released “Pandora Papers” which includes the names of over 700 Pakistanis who were uncovered on Sunday.
The report claims that documents that were leaked revealed that some of the most powerful politicians, including federal cabinet members as well as opposition and leaders of opposition parties “have secretly owned an array of companies”.
They include the Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, the Minister of Water Resources Moonis Elahi, Senator Faisal Vawda Ishaq Dar’s son the PPP’s Sharjeel Memon, and the PTI chairman Abdul Aleem Khan, among other people.
The Pandora Papers contain 11.9 million documents, and the investigation included more than 600 reporters who worked for 150 different media organizations across 117 countries, which makes it a more serious blunder than the Panama Papers.
It is possible to recall in The Panama Papers released in 2016 included the names of 444 Pakistanis.
